Coronavirus cases at 58 in Sedgwick County, 428 patients in Kansas with age range 0-95
The latest numbers from state public health officials show 58 patients in Sedgwick County have been diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said in a news release Tuesday afternoon that 428 patients statewide have tested positive during the pandemic. There have been 4,996 negative tests.
The state has confirmed the first case in a baby younger than a year old. Tuesday’s updated report shows ages of patients now range from zero to 95 years old with a median age of 56.
Health officials report that 79 people have been hospitalized, but hospitalization data is available on less than 60% of cases.
Nine deaths in Kansas have been attributed to the virus. One death has been in Sedgwick County.
McConnell Air Force Base on Monday reported its first coronavirus case. The patient is an active-duty airman who is in isolation at an off-base home.
