Sedgwick County cases of the new coronavirus have increased from seven to 10, officials said Wednesday.

Officials reported seven cases in Sedgwick County Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Deputy County Manager Tim Kaufman said the number rose to 10 as of 10 a.m.

Kaufman said there were three cases in neighboring Butler County and two in Reno County. Statewide, there are 98 cases; nationwide there were 46,481 cases, he said.

The three additional Sedgwick County cases are expected to be represented in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s daily updates. The additional cases will push Kansas over 100 cases.

The first case in Kansas was reported on March 7. The first Sedgwick County case was March 19.
