Walmart to add 3,600 jobs in Kansas
Walmart will add 150,000 new jobs by the end of May, including 3,600 jobs in Kansas, as a response to increased demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company announced this week.
The jobs will be temporary at first but could become permanent, the company said.
“We’ve reached out to industry groups representing restaurants and hospitality to facilitate temporary roles that can be a bridge for their employees during this difficult time,” the announcement said.
The most recent information on the company’s website says it has 20,496 employees in Kansas across 83 locations, paying an average wage of $14.02 for full-time associates.
