Augusta downtown group plans Small Business Saturday events

A group charged with promoting Augusta’s downtown district is planning to participate in Small Business Saturday.

Downtown Augusta Inc. said the events on Saturday will include Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 11 a.m., a Christmas parade beginning at 6:30 p.m., and a Christmas lighting ceremony that will begin at the conclusion of the parade. The group raised $10,000 to place lights on 29 trees in the four-block area of the city, which is about 20 miles east of Wichita.

The group also said that shoppers will receive a free movie ticket to the Augusta Historic Theatre when they make a purchase downtown.
