Kohl’s to keep stores open 24 hours starting next week

Kohl’s Stores will be open 24 hours a day beginning Dec. 19, the Wisconsin-based department store retailer said Tuesday.

On that day, its 1,163 stores in 49 states — including two in Wichita and one in Derby — will open at 6 a.m. and remain open until 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.

“Customers can rely on us around the clock for their last-minute gift giving solutions, and we are providing 24-hour access to Kohl’s stores right up to Christmas Eve,” Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief customer officer, said in a news release on Tuesday.

Retail stores have been taking a number of steps in an effort to boost their sales through the holiday season. From opening on Thanksgiving Day to extending holiday sales well before and after Black Friday, retailers are working to attract shoppers.

In Wichita, Kohl’s operates stores at 3561 N. Rock and 6900 W. Kellogg Drive. In Derby, its store is at 2800 N. Commerce Drive.
