Retailer Wal-Mart announced Tuesday that it will hire approximately 900 seasonal associates in Kansas for the upcoming holiday season, according to a news release.

Starting salaries for seasonal workers at the 89 Wal-Mart stores in the state will be at least $9 per hour, the release states. Wal-Mart traditionally hires additional employees during the holiday season after offering current employees the opportunity to sign up for additional hours.

The Arkansas-based retailer employs more than 20,600 people in Kansas, according to the release. The company encourages those interested in seasonal work opportunities to apply online at jobs.walmart.com.
