Rushpointe Apartments dedication set for Thursday
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Thursday for a low-income rental housing project for adults with disabilities in east Wichita, according to a news release.
Developed by Vintage Construction and the non-profit Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, the Rushpointe Apartments houses adults with developmental disabilities, according to the release.
The $2.3 million complex is located at 6908 E. 32nd St. N., which is where the dedication ceremony will take place beginning at 1 p.m. Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., is scheduled to attend.
The complex – two 6,500-square-foot duplexes – was funded by the Kansas Housing Resources Corp. through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, the release said. The project is fully completed with 16 residents, said Mark Cox of Vintage Construction.
Several regional businesses also helped make the project possible, including Midwest Housing Equity Group, Andover State Bank and Krehbiel Architecture, according to the release.
