These 11 Wichita ZIP codes have median home values exceeding $300K. Check out the data

Home sales in south-central Kansas last month decreased by 27.2% compared to April 2022, according to the latest report from South Central Kansas Association of Realtors.

The group reports data from Butler, Cowley, Harvey, Sedgwick and Sumner counties.

In all, 716 units sold in the area in April compared to 983 sold the same month last year.

Additionally, the median home sale price last month sat at $198,050, a little higher than the $195,000 it was last year. The median active listing price in April was $319,900, up 18.9% year-over-year.

The number of active listings jumped compared to last year, with 1,056 homes on the market at the end of last month compared to 633 at the same time in 2022. Nine hundred and eighteen contracts were written in April, according to the same report.

How much are Wichita houses worth?

Looking at home values, popular real estate site Zillow reports the average value of Wichita-area homes sits at $241,900.

Five ZIP codes have a median home value reportedly exceeding $400,000. The ZIP code with the highest median home value is 67228 with a mid-point home worth $442,818, or 3.18% higher than it was a year before.

Take a look at the other four ZIP codes with median home values of more than $400,000:

  • 67227 has a median home value of $432,921, a 6.68% increase from the year before
  • 67230 has a median home value of $424,368, a 0.59% increase from the year before
  • 67223 has a median home value of $421,283, a 2.22% increase from the year before
  • 67232 has a median home value of $416,027, a 2.58% increase from the year before

There are six other ZIP codes in the Wichita area with a median value exceeding $300,000, according to Zillow:

  • 67206 has a median home value of $354,048, a 3.12% increase from the year before
  • 67205 has a median home value of $350,863, a 4.26% increase from the year before
  • 67001 has a median home value of $342,324, a 10.36% increase from the year before
  • 67235 has a median home value of $341,266, a 1.13% increase from the year before
  • 67149 has a median home value of $338,111, a 9.52% increase from the year before
  • 67226 has a median home value of $311,318, a 2.66% increase from the year before

Of the areas included, ZIP code 67214 has the lowest median home value at $74,963.
