Sedgwick County has seen home prices rise over the last year, and the area’s market has remained competitive, according to two real estate websites.

The county’s median home sale price reached $251,250 the first week of April, according to real estate website Redfin.

Another realty site, Realtor.com, reports Wichita’s median home list price was $200,000 in March, an 8.1% hike compared to last year. Wichita homes spend an average of 50 days on the market, according to Realtor.com.

Here’s how Wichita neighborhoods compare for median list prices, from Realtor.com:

  • College Hill: $257,500 ($120 per square foot)

  • South Central: $95,000 ($76 per square foot)

  • Southwest Wichita: $140,000 ($106 per square foot)

  • Riverside: $175,000 ($127 per square foot)

  • South Seneca: $149,900 ($130 per square foot)

  • Sunflower: $116,000 ($98 per square foot)

Many Wichita homes get multiple offers, some with waived contingencies, according to Redfin. Average homes go pending in about nine days and sell for around list price, and Redfin considers Wichita’s real estate market to be “very competitive.”

Home values are up 7.9% from last year in Wichita, according to popular housing site Zillow, with a median of $186,154. About 37% of Wichita homes sell above list price, Zillow says, and 42% sell for less than list.

Sedgwick County has one of the highest median home sale prices among surrounding Kansas counties, according to Redfin. Here’s how nearby counties compare:

  • Harvey County: $209,750

  • Reno County: $172,500

  • Butler County: $166,500

  • Sumner County: $155,000
