Newton Medical Center CEO to assume role as president
Newton Medical Center’s current CEO will also assume the title of president beginning Sept. 22.
Vallerie Gleason began serving as CEO in March and will succeed Steven Kelly as president. Kelly has led Newton Medical Center for the past 16 years, according to a news release from the hospital.
As president, Gleason will oversee strategic planning, physician relations, business development and governmental issues.
She has served on Newton Medical Center’s leadership team since 2004. Prior to becoming CEO, she served as the hospital’s chief clinical integration officer, where she oversaw most clinical departments as well as medical staff support services and materials management.
Gleason received a business degree from Newman University and an MBA from Baker University.
She has served as an adjunct faculty member at Friends University since 2006.
