Wesley Woodlawn Hospital and ER in search of new CEO
Wesley Healthcare is searching for a new CEO of Wesley Woodlawn Hospital and ER.
Steve Edgar served as CEO of Wesley Woodlawn Hospital and ER – formerly called Galichia Heart Hospital – for more than three years but has accepted a position with a hospital in Denton, Texas, according to a Thursday news release from Wesley Healthcare.
Edgar will assume the role of president and CEO of Denton Regional Medical Center Aug. 22, according to Wesley’s statement.
Allen Poston, vice president of marketing and public relations for Wesley Healthcare, said Wesley would start searching for Edgar’s replacement. Poston said Wesley had not yet identified an interim CEO for the hospital.
Wesley’s news release said Edgar led the hospital through the development of its knee and hip program, the addition of bariatrics – an obesity treatment program – and led improvements in patient satisfaction scores and patient volume for various departments.
