Former Sedgwick County spokeswoman moves to Kansas Health Foundation
The Kansas Health Foundation announced Kristi Zukovich as its vice president for communication on Tuesday.
Zukovich was asked to resign in February from her position as spokeswoman for Sedgwick County.
She had worked for the county for 28 years when the County Manager Michael Scholes, who started in November, received backing from the county commissioners to change the county’s communication structure.
Zukovich replaces Blythe Thomas at the Kansas Health Foundation. Thomas left mid-January for a position as vice president of communications and marketing the Partnership for a Healthier America, a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C.
The Kansas Health Foundation said in a news release that Zukovich began the role June 27. Chase Willhite, associate vice president for communication, served as an interim for the roll until Zukovich started.
In her new position, Zukovich will oversee the foundation’s media relations and public education efforts.
Zukovich is from Wichita and graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communication and received a master’s degree from Pittsburg State University, according to the foundation’s release.
