Wichita nursing home receives perfect score from state
An independent nursing home in Wichita – Covenant Care Senior Living, 14422 Twinlake – received a perfect score on its most recent state evaluation.
The annual evaluations check that facilities meet state and federal regulations for safety, cleanliness and residents’ rights – including protection from abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Last year, fewer than 4 percent of the facilities inspected by the state received perfect scores, according to the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
Those facilities include skilled nursing homes, assisted-living centers, residential care facilities and adult day care and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Thus far this year, four other Wichita nursing homes received perfect scores: Meadowlark Adult Care Home, 254 S. Robin; Brookdale Derby, 1709 E. Walnut Grove; Founders Crest-ComfortCare Homes, 6887 E. Rockhill; and Via Christi Village on Georgetown, 1655 S. Georgetown.
