The Kansas Health Foundation has donated $50,0000 to support a local group that coordinates donated medical and dental care to uninsured people in Sedgwick County.
Central Plains Health Care Partnership said in a news release that the donation will support its Project Access program, a 15-year-old program that Central Plains said has served more than 12,340 uninsured patients and coordinated more than $170 million in donated medical care and $9.5 million in prescription medication support.
“These funds arrived at a critical time since Project Access has incurred funding cuts from public sources during the last two years,” Anne Nelson, Central Plains executive director, said in the release.
Project Access was established through an effort led by the Medical Society of Sedgwick County.
