HCA, Wesley’s parent company, buys Dallas area urgent care centers
The parent company of Wesley Medical Center and Galichia Heart Hospital said it has acquired a Texas urgent care center operator.
HCA said the acquisition of privately held CareNow includes 24 urgent care centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA said in a news release it already operates 11 hospitals and more than 50 ambulatory centers in the area.
“CareNow has a strong brand and will add an exceptional network of urgent care centers and 130 physicians that complement our hospital, emergency and outpatient services in Dallas-Fort Worth,” Sam Hazen, HCA president of operations, said in a news release Tuesday.
The announcement of the CareNow acquisition comes at the same time the company said it earned $518 million on revenue of $9.2 billion in the third quarter of 2014.
That compares with $365 million in net income on revenue of $8.5 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
