Even as Monique and Roger Haynes-Robertson look to expand their Sport Clips Haircuts franchise, they’re also starting a second franchise business.

The two already have five Sport Clips stores in the Wichita area and are considering one more here or possibly in Salina.

They’re also planning to open a new chiropractic franchise: the Joint, which also bills itself as “the chiropractic place.”

“It’s kind of the same market as far as demographics,” Roger Haynes-Robertson says of the Joint and Sport Clips.

In fact, the family’s first Joint will be in the same center as its first Sport Clips: NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road.

The Joint will open in the same center in front of SuperTarget where Pie Five Pizza and Firehouse Subs are.

“We look for power centers spread out across the city,” Haynes-Robertson says.

He says he and his wife liked the Joint’s concept, which doesn’t include a lot of overhead. The business, which does not take insurance, does adjustments only.

“You’re in and out between seven and 10 minutes,” Haynes-Robertson says.

The first consultation and adjustment costs $19. Appointments cost $29 per adjustment unless they’re part of a plan.

There’s a month-to-month plan of four adjustments for $59, with each additional adjustment costing $19.

There’s a premium six-month plan that costs $49 a month and then $12 for additional adjustments.

April Reed of Slawson Cos. handled the deal.

Haynes-Robertson says he and his wife have a letter of intent on a second site for the Joint and are looking for a third property.

“We’ll have three stores probably within a year.”
