Phil Ruffin is helping veterans and his friend’s presidential bid
In a Tuesday news conference in which Donald Trump detailed the money that he and friends have donated to veterans’ groups, he said that his friend Phil Ruffin gave $1 million.
But what has the Wichita and Las Vegas businessman contributed to his friend’s presidential campaign?
“I’m contributing directly to the Republican Party,” Ruffin says.
So far, he says, he’s given $500,000. Ruffin says he plans to give more, but he can’t say how much.
“I don’t know.”
It likely will depend on need.
“I want him to be president because he’d be a good one,” Ruffin says. “Donald would get things done.”
Ruffin has never been to the White House, but he says his support of Trump has nothing to do with perhaps one day getting to stay over in the Lincoln Bedroom or anywhere else.
“I’m not worried about that,” he says.
His concern is Trump becoming president.
“He wants it,” Ruffin says. “I’ll help him.”
Anything else?
“Trump for president.”
