QuikTrip is known for its scrape-and-build projects where it erects a new store on a site with an existing one.
The scrape-and-build project likely coming to the former QuikTrip at the northeast corner of Harry and Hillside doesn’t involve a new QuikTrip, though.
No one is talking yet, but it sounds like a Hardee’s deal is close to being finalized for the property and that the chain would open in a new building there.
Some alert readers have been wondering about a sold sign at the property.
If the deal happens, this would be the third Hardee’s since the chain re-entered the market this year.
The first opened early this year at New Leaf Plaza at the southwest corner of 21st and Amidon.
The second is getting ready to open in Derby across from the Derby Marketplace.
Typically, once construction starts, it takes about three months for a new Hardee’s to open.
Look for more details on the potential third site soon.
