Universal Lubricants sells new oil division to PetroChoice
UPDATED – New York-based Pegasus Capital Advisors, which owned Wichita’s Universal Lubricants, has sold its new oil division and the building it’s in at 2824 N. Ohio.
“PetroChoice purchased our new oil division,” says Jessica Pianalto, director of marketing. “That was our sales team and the supporting roles for the sales team that go out and sell our lubricant products that we blend and distribute here.”
With the Universal Lubricants acquisition, the Pennsylvania-based PetroChoice acquired Universal’s 15 new sites for a total of 44 facilities in 24 states.
“With that acquisition, they acquired the Universal Lubricants company name,” Pianalto says.
The company is now called Universal Lubricants, A PetroChoice Co.
Executive vice president Rick Palmore is still leading that division.
Pegasus still owns a Wichita refinery and an environmental services office at 2932 N. Ohio. It’s now known as RS Used Oil Services.
The company’s environmental services operations in Texas are operating under Midstate Environmental Services.
Pianalto says the division of the new oil business and environmental services creates new opportunities.
“We can now focus exclusively on lubricant blending, distribution and laboratory services, which strengthens our efficiencies and position in the lubricants market.”
