There has not been a lot of visible construction activity yet, but Sprouts Farmers Market is still planning to open at Piccadilly Square at Central and Rock Road.
In October, the Phoenix-based chain, which has stores that are a cross between a specialty grocery and a more conventional grocery store, confirmed it’s coming to Wichita.
Construction is waiting on a utility connection that’s out of the store’s control.
Steel to frame the store is on order, though, and the building should be done in time for the store to open by early 2017.

Sprouts will be in a new 30,000-square-foot building where Piccadilly Market & Grill once was.
It joins Fresh Market, Whole Foods Market and two Natural Grocers stores that have all come to Wichita in recent years.
