Five years after opening at Eaton Place at 509 E. Douglas, Leslie Way is moving her Salon Teased to the heart of Old Town at 916 E. Douglas, which is between Wasabi and “I Do” Bridal & Tux.

“We decided to put on our big girl panties,” Way says. “It’s a lot of expense. What was I thinking, you know?”

The salon’s new space will have 2,200 square feet, which is only a bit bigger than its current space.

“But it’s an open room,” Way says. “Just the whole layout’s going to be different. We are going to be able to put all the stylists in one room.”

Her current space “just was weird” because stylists had to be in separate rooms.

Way has 10 stylists. Being together will change “just the whole vibe of the salon,” she says.

“It’s definitely a domino effect. It gets the client jazzed, and it gets the stylist jazzed.”

Jake Ramstack of InSite Real Estate Group handled the deal for space.

The salon needs to pass a state inspection next week and then will be set to open in the new space by Tuesday. Way says passing won’t be an issue.

“We’re going to be ready.”
