Absolute Natural Stones owners find new Kellogg address

Nazir and Ammar Jesri have found a new site for their Absolute Natural Stones.

Like their last two sites, each of which they were paid to vacate for road improvements, this one also is along Kellogg.

Nazir Jesri says he doesn’t expect to have to move again in another couple of years.

“Honest to God, we are not aware of anything the city needs,” he says. “They will not need to pay us a penny.”

The new 20-acre property is halfway between 143rd and 159th on Kellogg. Jesri says the site still needs to be rezoned, and he says the city wouldn’t approve that only to pay him to move again later.

“If they have any reason, they will reject the plan.”

Due to improvements along Kellogg, the Jesris moved from just west of Greenwich on East Kellogg to just east of it by Lowe’s in late 2014. It was around that time they were told they would have to move again because the city and state needed part of their new property.

Nazir Jesri says if it had been up to him, he never would have moved.

“We would rather have stayed there than get the money,” he says. “The two moves have really been very hard.”

The Jesris had offers to move their business to sites away from Kellogg, but Nazir Jesri says there were issues with each of them.

Some were too expensive, he says, and some were too close to competition or not on the east side where the majority of Absolute Natural Stones customers are.

“We’re excited about the new location,” Jesri says.

He says there are pluses and minuses with the new property.

“It’s literally on the edge of town.”

That means the business will miss the traffic generated from Lowe’s and Wal-Mart at One Kellogg Place, which is what it was near previously.

However, the 20 acres is more than the Jesris need for their business, so there are opportunities to lease to other businesses or develop the property on their own.

“There’s a lot of opportunities to develop that whole thing,” Nazir Jesri says.

That could mean a shopping center or something else.

Jesri says he and his brother sold the majority of their inventory in an auction and won’t be in business at their new space for at least two or three months.

“It’s a long road,” he says. “Longer than we expected.”
