At long last, Larry Greider is getting ready to open an Auto Masters Collision Center on the east side.

“We’ve never had an east-side location,” he says.

He’s going to open by Feb. 3 “at the very latest” in about 10,000 square feet at 6115 E. Kellogg, which is a former Davis-Moore Auto Group body shop between Woodlawn and Edgemoor.

“We need to get in and do some painting,” Greider says.

He has three other collision centers along with ones for service, glass work, used cars and a car wash and quick lube.

Greider says he works with a lot of insurance agents, and it only makes sense to be on the east side.

“Things have just not panned out right,” he says of having space before now.

Next, Greider wants space northeast.

“I’m close to getting something done there,” he says. “Definitely, northeast is in our future.”

When Greider bought Auto Masters two decades ago, he says he started with four people and one facility.

“We’ve come a long ways,” he says. “I’ve been very fortunate.”

His strategy is to first hire good people. Then, it’s about service, Greider says.

“If you take care of your customers, they come back to you,” he says.

“Karma goes a long ways.”
