Aaron’s to return to Wichita with three stores

Aaron’s, the lease-to-own store that left the Wichita market a few years ago, is returning.

It’s not only returning to the market with what will likely be three stores, the first is actually returning to a building where an Aaron’s used to be in the Cherry Creek shopping center at Harry and Rock.

“It’s our exact old location,” says regional manager Melanie Marnach.

The store will feature the chain’s new Generation 4 model.

“It’s a brand-new look,” Marnach says.

The 9,200-square-foot store should open by March.

“I’m crossing my fingers,” Marnach says.

“Worst-case scenario, April.”

Ink Construction is the contractor.

The previous store closed when its lease was up in 2011.

Aaron’s sells and leases furniture, appliances, electronics, riding mowers, snow blowers and fireplaces.

It offers financing for 12, 18 or 24 months. Marnach says the chain also has a 120-day, same-as-cash deal.

The Cherry Creek store will be the first to open.

“Our goal is to get to three,” Marnach says. “It’s just trying to make sure that we get the best spots.”

She says she’s “pretty excited.”

“I love the building. It’s huge,” Marnach says.

“It’ll be nice to get back in Wichita.”
