Burn Out Bar and Grill set to open in Delano

After a dozen years in the hotel industry, Crystal Wynia is trying a new side of the hospitality industry by opening the Burn Out Bar and Grill in Delano.

“I just switched gears a little bit,” says the former general manager and operations manager of the Candlewood Suites at K-96 and Webb Road.

“That’s what I’m bringing to this,” Wynia says, “the hospitality side that I learned all these years.”

The bar and grill will open at the southeast corner of Maple and Seneca where Raven’s Room was most recently and the Pour Haus was before that.

“I have done a lot of looking for a bar to lease,” Wynia says.

Since this is her first business to own, she says, she didn’t want to jump into owning a building, too.

Wynia and her husband, Robert, who works for Beechcraft, considered an aviation theme for the business, but she says they had a hard time finding aviation-related items to decorate the bar.

“We both like race cars,” she says. “We like old hot rods.”

So that’s how they came up with the name.

Wynia says there will be a lot of “home-cooked” food, such as fried chicken and tenders and a burger made with bacon in the patties.

She says she’s still waiting on licensing but hopes to open by late December.
