It can no longer be said that no one from Costco is talking.

The Washington-based wholesale grocery chain has been working on a Wichita store for a couple of years but has been mum about its plans so far.

Wednesday, Have You Heard? reported that the company closed on more than 17 acres of former Beechcraft property at the northeast corner of Kellogg and Webb Road.

A Costco representative, without confirming that the store is coming, said that the chain typically doesn't comment on individual stores.

Late Wednesday evening, however, Costco co-founder Jeff Brotman sent Have You Heard? e-mail confirmation:

“We (Costco) are coming.”

It may be brief, but there you go.
