When Michael Sbragia was transferred from Chicago to Wichita early this year, he and his wife, Dana, had one major disappointment.
“Honestly, it’s been very hard to find good pizza,” Dana Sbragia says.
Though Chicago is known for its deep dish pizza, Sbragia says she and her family like the thin crust pizza found in Chicago’s suburbs.
They found what they like at Wichita Pizza Co. and now are buying the 5-year-old business at 1520 S. Webb Road, near Harry and Webb.

“I mean, their pizza is amazing,” says Sbragia, who has worked in the restaurant industry for almost three decades.
She and her husband are adding items to the menu, such as barbecue chicken pizza rolls, antipasto salad, stuffed cannoli and molten lava bundt cake. They’ll also have varieties of flatbread pizza, such as twisted pepperoni and sweet Thai chicken.
The Sbragias will be doing a little bit of remodeling, too.
“It has, like, a bar feel, but we’re changing it to basically have more of a family atmosphere,” Dana Sbragia says.
The Sbragias will serve beer and wine only.
They’ll take over Oct. 26, close for two days of remodeling and then and have a grand reopening celebration on Nov. 14.
