After almost 70 years in business, Clark’s Fine Jewelers at 21st and Rock Road is closing.
“We have sold our building after being here 15 years,” says owner Gary Clark.
Clark says he’s not permitted to say who the buyer is.
“I have a gag order in my contract.”

The store is having a closing sale with 20 to 80 percent off of everything, Clark says, and he says there’s a lot to sell.
“Oh my goodness, right now we’re probably sitting on $2 million at retail,” he says. “I hope to have it all sold out through the Christmas holiday.”
Clark, who filed for bankruptcy in 2009, says he hasn’t been looking to close. He says a buyer for the 3,600-square-foot building approached “and made me an offer that I couldn’t say no to.”
Business has been great lately, Clark says.
“Incredibly great. Unbelievable. It’s been good for the last eight and a half months. I think the economy’s strong.”
Clark also has a general contractor’s license and has Clark’s Affordable Concrete & Roofing with his son, Jason.
“I may get into that,” Clark says of spending more time with the company.
First, though, he says he’s going to take a break before choosing what to do full time.
“I am going to spend time with my beautiful wife for a couple of years and decide.”
