A year after opening, Scattered Lodges Trading Co. is moving “just around the way” in Delano, says Scott Keller, who owns the business with his wife, RaShell.
Scattered Lodges is a resale shop and auction house that opened in the former 3,000-square-foot Beards Floral Design space near Seneca and Second Street last November.
Now, it’s moving to almost 5,000 square feet at 1440 W. Douglas. The new space opens on Monday.
“It happened quick,” Keller says of the deal.

In addition to being bigger, the new space will have three large entry doors, including two that are dock high where trucks can pull up to unload.
“Expenses will be a lot less because of that,” Keller says.
Previously, he has had to unload trucks from the street, which in the winter often meant he had to have a forklift with 4-wheel drive and mud tires.
Keller says business has been steady.
“I’m moving to more of a distributorship.”
He says he still makes individual sales but now often sells full pallets and truck loads to resale and retail businesses.
“It’s a slow build,” Keller says. “I hope to move again to a larger warehouse.”
He says he’s been pleased at the support he’s had from shoppers who prefer to buy locally.
“Wichita has definitely supported small business around here, I can tell you that.”
However, he adds, “I’m definitely not a millionaire yet.”
