Rebecca Darter started as a personal shopper for a variety of customers in 2012.
“What they didn’t want, I’d sell online,” she says.
Eventually, Darter opened a warehouse filled with mostly women’s clothing and a bit for men. Then she incorporated her business.
Now she’s opening a retail shop.

“I guess I’m really good at buying things other people want to buy,” Darter says.
“This will be my first retail shop.”
Her business is Rebekah’s Treasures, which she says she purposely spelled differently from her own first name.
“That’s how it’s spelled in the Bible,” Darter says. “I wanted a little twist on it.”
The 1,200-square-foot store will open on Tuesday at 9428 W. Central, which is behind her warehouses and offices.
Darter says she gets a lot of her discounted items through buying returns at places such as Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Lord & Taylor.
The store will be open regularly from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
For her grand opening on Tuesday, when Darter is giving away a Coach bag, the store will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.
“I have faithful customers,” she says of some working women who shop with her, “and I’d really like them to have the opportunity to come in.”
