Missing your margaritas and other Spangles drinks? ‘Be patient,’ Rene Steven says
There was a lot involved with the recent Spangles sale, and apparently margaritas, screwdrivers and Bloody Marys weren’t the top priority.
“They were all so focused on the real estate and property,” said Rene Steven, director of operations. “The alcohol license did lapse.”
That’s in part because it’s not only one license. There’s a separate one for each of the 26 restaurants.
As soon as the licenses can be obtained, the popular drinks will be back.
Initially, the offerings will be the same as they were previously.
In the future, though, the Hamideh family that bought the chain from Steven’s brothers, Dale and Craig Steven Sr., want to revamp the drink menu.
Abdul Hamideh has a lot of ideas for new promotions and possible new drinks.
“He really wants to do some fun stuff with it,” Rene Steven said.
She’s hoping it’s an absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder situation and people will be excited when the drink menu returns.
And in the meantime?
“Be patient, because it will be back.”
