The Only Facial you’ll ever need? Cambridge Market is going to have it.
So many people share stories about how they’ve always wanted to own their own businesses.
Not Kelly Muich.
“I am the biggest anti-risk person in the world,” she said.
Then her friend Laurie Kuchy told her about the Only Facial, a St. Louis franchise.
Muich went to try one in Kansas City.
“I was completely sold,” she said. “I was like, this has to come to Wichita.”
Now, she, Kuchy and Kari Livermore are opening an Only Facial at Cambridge Market, at 21st and Webb Road.
Muich said the franchise started in 2017 with the idea that “skin care didn’t really have to be complicated to be effective.”
“Since then, it’s exploded.”
She said the business plan is simple.
The business has only one signature facial that offers the same 11-step treatment every time.
“All the things that you would normally be upsold . . . are included in our facial,” Muich said.
That includes cleansing, brow work, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, a chemical peel or enzyme exfoliation, massage, extractions, red light therapy, microcurrent and high-frequency treatments, a treatment mask and hydration with an SPF.
Products are customized to individual skin types.
Muich said one thing she liked during her treatment is that she didn’t have to make any decisions.
“I just really enjoyed the experience,” she said.
She said she also liked that “I didn’t get upsold during the facial.”
“There’s no product selling, so, really, the aesthetician can be a consultant for the client.”
Each treatment is $125 including gratuity.
At every four to six weeks, Muich said, “Honestly, it’s so affordable.”
The Only Facial will be between Cafe Maurice and Balanced Arches.
There will be six private rooms in the 1,400-square-foot space.
Stephanie Wiens of Commercial Collective handled the deal for the space.
The official opening is July 14, but there will be a soft opening in the week before that.
Muich said a lot of Only Facial franchisees open second sites in markets where they are about a year after opening their first ones. She said that’s her hope for the west side of Wichita.
Though she is staunchly anti-risk, Muich is making the leap to owning her own business because she’s also confident in what the Only Facial offers.
“When I left my skin was glowing, and it looked amazing.”
