The latest new business at the Heritage in Andover finally is opening Friday

As the Heritage development in Andover continues to grow, Na Atkinson said it’s time for her to open her Urban Nails salon whether she’s fully ready or not.

“I cannot wait any longer,” she said.

Atkinson said she’s watching traffic at the 110-acre development along East Kellogg increase with diners enjoying Social Tap Drinkery and Livingston’s Cafe among other businesses.

“I hope that I can be busy, too.”

She said a lot of people come to the development simply to walk around, and they keep asking when she’s going to open.

Atkinson plans a soft opening for Friday, but, she said, “We have a very, very small team right now.”

That includes herself and a few nail techs. She said it’s hard to find employees at the moment.

Atkinson also has five spaces to rent to others in the beauty and wellness industry.

Two are already filled. One offers lash services and the other offers facials and skin care.

Of the three spaces she has left to fill, one is large with a big window and its own entrance.

Atkinson is hoping for someone to offer Botox, massage and hair services as well.

“My goal is to create a mini beauty hub inside my salon, and I want to support young women in business.”

Her plan is for customers to be able to relax and unwind in a spalike atmosphere for an elevated experience.

“I don’t want a chaotic nail salon.”

There is a private room with five pedicure chairs that’s available for private parties.

Atkinson also has Urban Nails next to Il Vicino in Crown Heights.

“I will be back and forth,” she said.

For now, she’ll mostly be in Andover to get that business going.

Though her salon will take walk-in customers, Atkinson is trying to encourage people to book online with a 15% discount.

Hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Atkinson is calling Friday’s opening a soft opening because she’s still putting finishing touches on the salon.

“The shop still needs some . . . small details.”

As hesitant as she is about jumping into opening, Atkinson said she’s excited about the Heritage’s future.

“It’s going to be popular.”
