A local favorite is taking the former Grimaldi’s space at Waterfront Plaza
About two decades after opening at Bradley Fair, Bella Luna Cafe will be leaving for Waterfront Plaza, at 13th and Webb Road, by Whole Foods Market.
Owner Matteo Taha isn’t talking just yet, but Don Piros of Landmark Commercial Real Estate confirmed it.
He and Landmark president and CEO Brad Saville handled the deal.
Sometime in the first quarter of next year, Bella Luna will open in the former Grimaldi’s space, which was Zoe’s Kitchen before that.
Grimaldi’s, a national chain, closed in April after two years in Wichita.
The Bradley Fair Bella Luna had been Taha’s second Bella Luna restaurant when he opened it in early 2004.
Since then, he closed his Bella Luna on East Central where Georges is now, and he also opened a Bella Luna at NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road.
Taha’s Bradley Fair lease isn’t up for several months, but he should start remodeling his new Waterfront space soon. He plans to incorporate the patio into the building in a bigger way.
Look for more information from Taha at some point during the remodeling.
