There’s good news for Fit For A Queen fans.

Not only has owner Pia Schwamman found someone to buy the shop — she’d announced this summer that she is retiring — but the new owner has the same vision she did when starting the shop in 2013.

Devyn Koob wants to help women who wear plus sizes because there are few stores that cater to them.

“The shop is just such a niche in the community,” she said. “I have absolutely loved this shop.”

Koob said she’s on the smaller side of plus sizes and still struggles to find clothing.

“Anything that’s higher than a 2X, that’s truly hard to find.”

Koob has been working as a health insurance advisor for the last couple of years and was in the mortgage industry before that. She plans to continue working in the insurance industry while also running the shop.

“I did used to work for Pia at the shop . . . forever ago,” Koob said.

She continued offering tech support after that.

Now, Koob plans to increase the store’s media presence. She’d also like to add another dressing room. Otherwise, she doesn’t plan many changes.

Much of the store’s inventory comes from donations, so Koob said she’ll be able to keep the low prices customers have come to expect.

Sizes range from 14 to 36.

Koob said she’s signing a 3-year lease to remain at 207 N. Hillside, and hours will remain the same.

The store is closed Sunday and Monday and then open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Koob said she may make some updates to the interior of the store next year.

“I kind of want to get in the swing of things first.”
