There are new owners of a familiar west-side business, and one of the owners is already familiar to a lot of Wichitans, especially those on the west side.

Sedgwick County Commissioner Stephanie Wise and her husband, Brandt, have purchased the PostNet franchise at Auburn Pointe, at Maple and 135th West.

“It’s such a neighborhood location,” Stephanie Wise said. “That’s where everybody on this side of town drops all of their packages.”

The Wises purchased the business from Ron and Bonnie Fehr, who Stephanie Wise said did a great job building it into what it is today.

She said her family now plans to build on that legacy.

“My husband’s kind of taking the lead on this,” said Wise, who also owns Commercial Collective, a commercial real estate brokerage.

Brandt Wise’s sister, Brandi Wise, will manage the shop.

“It’s truly a family affair for us,” Stephanie Wise said.

In a statement, Brandi Wise said her focus is going to be on customer service.

“We see PostNet as not only a convenient neighborhood service, but also as an opportunity to strengthen business-to-business connections across Wichita and the surrounding communities.”

This is the only current PostNet site in Wichita. One on the east side previously closed.

Stephanie Wise said her family has plans to expand to the east side within three to five years.

PostNet offers a variety of services, including printing and shipping and other business solultions.

Todd Bailey, president of Transworld Business Advisors of Wichita, helped broker the sale of the business.
