When potential customers ask Zack Steven what services Reddi offers these days, he has too many to list.

“I tend to now reply, ‘What do you need done?’ ”

Reddi’s latest acquisition is Great American Hardwood Flooring, a company that’s been in the Wichita area for four decades.

“We’ve never been in flooring,” Steven said.

Great American offers a range of flooring options for residential, commercial and a lot of area gyms. Steven said the company has been known as the go-to source for hardwood floors in particular.

“They can do anything, but really, their specialty is hardwood floors installation (and) refinishing.”

The company also offers tile, vinyl flooring and concrete polishing and will continue to.

Steven said he’d like to grow the business with all flooring options.

“We’ll kind of see where it goes.”

On the commercial side, Steven said the company does a lot of work with the same contractors as Reddi in its other industries.

“It’s a different line of work, obviously, but everything’s pretty relatable.”

Reddi’s other focuses are fences, garage doors, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, sprinklers, lawn care, appliance repair, industrial services and excavation and underground utility work.

There could be more in the future, too.

“We’re just always looking for opportunities,” Steven said.

Todd Bailey, president of Transworld Business Advisors of Wichita, brokered the Great American sale.

Steven said key staff members will remain with the business.

“We’ve been fortunate to get a lot of good people through these acquisitions.”

That includes Jeff Bally, whose family started and ran the company for 40 years.

Bally said it was a good opportunity to sell the family business. His father had already retired. Also, he said there are a lot of benefits to being with a larger company.

“We jumped on it.”

Steven said he plans to keep the name Great American Flooring, minus the Hardwood since the company does so much more.

“It’s been a good name in the industry for a long time and in the area, so we want to keep that going.”
