Women are welcome, but this new Wichita business is for the guys

As Brian Potter’s career as a military pilot began winding down, he started looking for a franchise to open that would allow him to stay home more, including with his son, Jaxon. Potter now is preparing to open his first Gameday Men’s Health Clinic.

As Brian Potter’s career as a military pilot has been winding down — he retires from McConnell Air Force Base this month — he’s been seeing friends go to work for airlines.

“I’ve had plenty of deployments,” Potter said.

He studied franchises that would allow him to stay home, and Potter settled on Gameday Men’s Health Clinic.

“It is one of the fastest-growing franchises in history,” he said.

In the summer of 2023, there were five clinics.

“And now they have well over 250 open clinics.”

He said the clinics are a way to help men by focusing on what the franchise calls the core four: testosterone replacement therapy, erectile dysfunction, weight loss and vitamins and peptides.

“We pride ourselves on being opposite of a sterile doctor’s office,” Potter said.

Men who are no longer feeling their best can come in and do lab work with results in 15 minutes. Most of that work is testing for testosterone levels.

Though men often aren’t known for getting their health checked as readily as a lot of women, Gameday tries to make the process as efficient and painless as possible.

“They could be getting treatment within 45 minutes,” Potter said.

Evan Miller, who has a PhD in behavioral health, founded the California-based franchise. He has a saying that Potter now repeats: “There’s no shame in your game.”

Potter said a lot of times men are misdiagnosed with depression when they actually have low testosterone.

Though the clinics are designed for men, Potter said Gameday’s weight loss treatments and vitamins can help women, too.

“We will treat whoever comes in.”

The first Gameday will open next month in the Avante development at the northwest corner of 37th North and Ridge Road.

Potter had looked east first but didn’t find a site he liked. He said he likes the area around Avante and the complex itself, including landlords Brian and Paul Suellentrop.

“It was kind of a no-brainer for me.”

Potter still hopes to open on the east side within a year.

He has the south-side territory, including Derby and Rose Hill, as well. Potter said he’ll have to examine the numbers to see if a third site is warranted.

Look for more news on the remaining spaces at Avante soon.
