Out-of-state company to bring new business to the former east-side All Star Adventures
Word first started circling in summer 2023 that All Star Adventures was going to close, but it took until this month for it to happen.
The east-side business on North Webb Road closed on Dec. 1.
“Our lease is up, and we’ve been told that the property has been sold to a new owner,” said Stacie White, general manager.
Its sister business, All Star Sports on the west side along West 21st Street, will remain open.
All Star Adventures of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., owned both businesses.
However, Equisset, a financing business that’s part of the Lange Cos., and a couple of partners own the property where the east-side All Star was.
No one with Equisset is discussing what’s coming to the site, but it sounds like it’s an unrelated, out-of-state business that’s still going to be one Wichitans will be interested in.
Nothing will remain there from All Star.
“Everything on the property is being sold,” White said.
Some of the east-side All Star property will move to the west side, including the bumper cars, “which is super exciting because it’s one more thing to do inside,” White said.
That’s the only ride the east side had inside. The west-side All Star also has laser tag and a rock climbing wall inside.
Some games are moving to the west side, too.
“Outside attractions, we’re not quite ready to announce yet,” White said.
She said the east side was a more seasonal park with a large group pavilion outside that could accommodate corporate parties of 1,000 people.
On the west side, there are 300 seats available in air conditioning.
“It’s fairly steady business year-round,” White said. “The east side was really summer specific.”
With some logistical jockeying, she said the west side can accommodate larger parties as well.
Parties that were booked for the east side have been moved to the west side.
There are east-side employees who have moved west, too.
It doesn’t look like the east-side All Star business is going to reopen at a new site.
“I don’t think that’s an option . . . at the moment,” White said.
The east-side business, once known as Sports World in the mid-1990s, has been in Wichita for decades.
Check back soon for news about the new business coming to the former All Star site.
