Prefer in-store shopping to online? This NewMarket Square store may be for you
Do you ever want to take a pause from technology and return to the days when everything wasn’t online or automated?
Bling Glamour does and is taking its customers on the journey, too.
The Kansas women’s clothing and accessories chain still has a website, but you can’t buy anything from it anymore.
“We really went back to that brick and mortar, getting customers in the store,” said Timaree Johnson, director of stores.
“We’re just getting back to people.”
Johnson said it’s about getting to know customers.
“Knowing them by name, knowing what their favorite products are.”
She said it’s “going beyond selling and really just connecting.”
Along with the move, the chain has consolidated some of its stores, including moving the former Greenwich Place Bling into the store at NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road.
The chain previously had 26 stores in Kansas and Nebraska and now has 15 “to basically increase our profitability,” Johnson said.
She said it helps enhance the customer experience, too, through service and expanded products.
New lines include Kendra Scott, Wrangler and Montana Silversmiths, among others.
There will be a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting Thursday for Bling’s reopening celebration, which also includes some giveaways and discounts, such as buy one item and get the second at 30% off.
Johnson said Bling stayed with the NewMarket store because there are a lot of new things happening there, such as Barnes & Noble opening this week, and new management that she said is especially collaborative in working with tenants.
“It’s just very empowering.”
