New building finally starts to take shape near 37th North and Rock Road
For months, there’s been a slab of concrete but not much else just north of 37th North and Rock Road. As of Friday, a building is starting to take shape there.
“It’s an ideal location,” said general contractor Fadel Alsoudi of MFA & Associates.
He’s building a more-than-6,000-square-foot center primarily for office use and some retail.
Alsoudi started on the project a couple of months ago, but the wait for steel has held things up until now.
“You’re going to see some action,” he said Thursday.
Sure enough, steel started going up Friday.
“It’s going to take a month and a half to see a building shell.”
Alsoudi said it’s a business-oriented area on a major road with a lot of good exposure, so offices make sense along with whatever retail comes along.
Once the shell is complete, then work will begin on the inside, he said.
“It’ll look nice.”
