An updated Urban Air and Adventure Park is reopening this weekend with new attractions, including one that owner Jon Becker said is “similar to a zip line roller coaster.”

“Wichita has never seen anything like this,” he said. “It’s really exciting, and you have to see it to understand it.”

Becker and his wife, Annie, were the first Urban Air franchisees in 2014 when they opened at 8545 W. Irving, near Kellogg and Tyler.

The business has been closed the past couple of months as they upgraded the park.

“Now, we are considered an Urban Air 2.0 park,” Jon Becker said.

In addition to the Sky Rider attraction that shoots guests across the length of the building, there are new rock climbing walls with places to jump off.

“The beautiful thing about those is you can actually adjust the distance you have to jump,” Becker said.

He said there are a lot of new features throughout the park that can be adjusted to skill sets or set to timers to compete with others or try to improve times.

One wall is double-sided and clear so climbers can face off against each other as they climb.

Becker said the idea is to have more activities that families can do together.

There’s also a new ninja warrior course and a ropes course among other things, including new lights and colors throughout.

Becker said customers who are one of the first 200 people in line when Urban Air reopens at 10 a.m. Saturday and purchase either a $27.99 ultimate pass or a $22.99 deluxe pass will receive a free basic pass for a year.

“So it’s a huge value.”
