The building where Hen Feathers and a few other businesses used to be at the northeast corner of Douglas and Rock Road was demolished this week.

Property owner Paul Hoover, who also is an owner in Il Vicino, said, “That’s going to be a 7 Brew.”

That’s the Arkansas coffee chain that entered the Wichita market last year. It serves drive-through beverages from a modular building.

“The building will drop in June,” Hoover said.

The chain serves a variety of coffee, tea, smoothies and other drinks.

The company calls itself “so much more than just a coffee stand.”

Its tagline, cultivating kindness, may sound familiar to Wichitans. It’s similar to the Wichita-based HomeGrown’s cultivate kindness tagline.

According to the 7 Brew Coffee website, “It’s the concept of cultivating kindness and joy with every drink – through our service, speed, quality, energy and atmosphere. It’s contagious and it’s changing the drive-thru coffee industry.”

Hoover said there’s not an exact opening date yet, but it should follow soon after the building is in place. Look for more details then.
