Well-known Wichitan starts new co-working space with lots of amenities
Wichita now has a new co-working space, but this one is a little different than some that simply have office space to rent.
Brant Dumford said his space — the Colony at 659 N. Market — is “basically designed for small businesses so they can grow.”
He is offering people a lot of the tools they may need but may not have easy access to as small business owners.
There are in-house services for legal assistance, insurance and investments. There are social media managers who can help get the word out about businesses, including through podcasts in the Colony’s podcast studio.
There’s also a gym with a basketball court, a full kitchen, a poker lounge and a stocked bar.
Memberships with a private office are $500 a month. A basic membership is $99 a month.
There are 20 private offices available.
Dumford perhaps is best known for his family’s Delano Bakery. He said he won’t be running the Colony.
Like in most of his ventures, he said, “I have partners . . . that handle most of the heavy lifting.”
That includes business partner Anna Kate Tillison.
Dumford said he had an opportunity with the building and decided to take it.
“I wanted to be able to create a product that would help people grow their businesses faster.”
There will be a grand opening later this month.
