Part of the charm of dining at Elderslie Farm is that it’s just outside of Wichita in a bucolic setting in Kechi.

As owner Katharine Elder put it, “The trek out to the farm is so lovely.” However, “It is a trek.”

Now, she’s opening a temporary pop-up store with a small dining area in Wichita called Everyday Elderslie at Bradley Fair at 21st and Rock Road.

Though it’s in the city, it’s still a farm-to-table concept.

“I have always wanted to have a little cheese shop in town,” Elder said.

Everyday Elderslie will be just north of Il Vicino starting Friday.

There will be sandwiches, salads and sweets along with bakery items, such as bread, muffins and scones. Lunch will feature dishes such as a quinoa winter squash bowl. There will be cold soups to go.

Customers can dine at three small two-top tables, but Elder said, “It’s more intended for grab and go.”

There will be packaged food, such as the cheese that Elderslie Farm is known for, and charcuterie boards. There also will be items such as tea towels, Elderslie-branded aprons, cheese knives and crackers.

There will be a letters to Santa box as well.

“I love the transformation of the space,” Elder said of where a dry cleaners used to be. “It has lots of little nooks and crannies.”

She said they have been fun to decorate.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 pm. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The pop-up will remain open beyond the holidays, although it’s not clear for how long.

“I would love for it to be a more long-term partnership if we can,” Elder said.

“We’re just really excited to be able to do it.”
