New Wichita franchise is opening to help dogs and their owners
There’s a new franchise coming to Wichita that’s all about taking care of dogs — and in the process, their owners, too.
Keely Garza is opening Scenthound to make it “so easy for dog parents to provide routine care for their dogs.”
The business will be at 10240 W. 29th St. North, near the corner of 29th and Maize Road, just down from Sam’s Club.
Garza is a former kennel manager.
“I fell in love with the position and the field.”
She’s always wanted her own business, though, so she teamed with her father, Sean Falk, who has been involved with franchising for more than 25 years. He found Florida-based Scenthound.
The “scent” of Scenthound stands for skin, coat, ear, nails and teeth.
The business offers three tiers of dog wash subscriptions. Customers can choose plans for $29 or $39 a month or $59 a month for unlimited washing.
“It’s cheap and easy,” Garza said. “It just spoke to me as a big dog parent.”
In addition to basic hygiene and care, Scenthound offers add-on services such as grooming, plaque reduction and shedding treatments. Add-on prices vary depending on a dog’s size and coat.
Though she owns big dogs herself, Garza said, “We are here for every dog of every size.”
Dan Unruh and Curt Robertson of InSite Real Estate Group handled the deal for the space.
Scenthound will open in early November. Garza said more locations are possible in Wichita and maybe even beyond eventually.
