After years of speculation at Bradley Fair, the news is official:

Nordstrom Rack is opening on the south side of the center at 21st and Rock Road.

“Nordstrom Rack is a retailer that has often been requested by our shoppers, and we are excited to fill that want,” said Bradley Fair General Manager Abbey Way in an e-mailed statement.

“Along with their broad selection of many desired brands, Nordstrom Rack will bring a great energy to the south end of the property and will be a great neighbor to Trader Joe’s and Pedego.”

For years after Bed Bath & Beyond and Fresh Market left the center, shoppers wondered when new businesses would open on the south end of the popular development.

Starting many years ago, there was talk that Nordstrom Rack, which sells clothing and accessories, was looking at the space.

The store is similar to a Saks Off 5th, T.J. Maxx or Marshalls.

No one with Nordstrom Rack could be immediately reached for comment.

The store will take the majority of the former Bed Bath & Beyond space.

Construction is underway now, and the store will open next summer.

Look for more news on the store soon.
