Rodney Steven II continues to expand his Genesis Health Clubs, this time with two new clubs in a couple of prominent places.

Steven purchased Onelife Fitness sites in Kansas City’s Power & Light District and in the Ballpark Village area of St. Louis, which means members will have views of the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.

“St. Louis is a new city for our team that we’ve been looking towards as a natural place to expand for a long time,” Steven said in a news release.

Steven called Ballpark Village a special place for a Genesis club.

“With an open courtyard and windows that overlook the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium . . . it’s about as quintessentially St. Louis as you can get.”

This is Steven’s first venture into the St. Louis market, and if he follows what he’s done in other markets, the move signals more St. Louis-area clubs to come.

“All I can say is that we don’t go into new cities to just have one location.,” he said in the release. “The Ballpark Village will act as an anchor, and we’re already in talks for future locations.”

Steven also may add new clubs in Prairie Village and the Northlands area of Kansas City, where Onelife had clubs in the works. A spokesman said his intention is to move those deals forward, although there are no details yet.

There are more than 20 Genesis sites in the Kansas City area and, with Steven’s two new sites, he has a total of 58 clubs across the Midwest, including clubs in Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Iowa.
