International company opens new Wichita office for work on behalf of the state
There’s a new tenant at One Brittany Place, an office development behind Brittany Center at 21st and Woodlawn.
Maximus, a Virginia-based company that has contracts with governments throughout the world, is taking 7,600 square feet there.
“We operate on behalf of the government agency,” said Eileen Cassidy Rivera, vice president of public relations and communications.
In this case, Maximus has a new contract with the Kansas Department for Children and Families.
“Our contract includes responsibility for establishment and enforcement of child support obligations in four judicial districts,” Rivera said.
The districts include Wichita, Topeka, Overland Park and Kansas City.
“Additionally, we are managing the statewide interactive voice-response system, which is designed to answer basic questions and route callers who need information about . . . the child support program in Kansas,” Rivera said.
Patrick Ahern of NAI Martens handled the deal for the space.
Maximus has done work on behalf of the state in the past. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment parted ways with Maximus last year after frustrations over how it processed applications and operated a customer service call center for KanCare.
The company is hiring for a range of positions in its new office, including supervisors, quality assurance, case managers and support staff.
