What does Old Chicago, Logan’s Roadhouse parent company bankruptcy mean for Wichita?
Old Chicago and Logan’s Roadhouse parent company CraftWorks Holdings this week announced Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which followed the closure of 37 of its various restaurant brands.
Those brands include Rock Bottom and Gordon Biersch, which aren’t in the Wichita area.
Locally, nothing will change with Old Chicago or Logan’s.
“We’re not going anywhere,” says Josh Kern, chief experience officer for the Nashville company. “We love Wichita.”
He says CraftWorks closed some underperforming companies across its brands.
There are three Old Chicago restaurants in Wichita — on the east and west sides and in Old Town — and there’s still one in the works in Goddard.
“We’ve broken ground,” Kern says.
The restaurant should open by July at the latest.
“We know that the brand certainly is popular in that marketplace,” Kern says.
Kern says the other restaurants will continue operating normally.
“Given the news, we are doing everything possible just to run normal operations and to ensure ice cold beer and delicious pizza to all of (our) Old Chicago followers out there.”
There are Logan’s restaurants in east and west Wichita. Kern says nothing is changing with them either.
“They’re all good and staying open.”
